More work has been done on the engine head this month. I've done
some basic gas flowing on the top end, but I need to spend more
time on it to be honest. I also bought a Bernzomatic Cutting/Welding/Brazing
Torch kit (From Halfords, was cheaper than B&Q!) so that I could
braze my sump pipe. This was an easy task once I mastered the flame
control and which rod to use (The one covered in white flux!)
Sorry from crap qualiy
It's on solid enough however, I think it's at a slight
angle so I'll need to adjust it. I found it hard/impossible to get
the mesh cover to stay in place while I worked on it which is probably
why it is wrong. Still nothing that can't be put right!
Also made my fuel tanks mounts, and did my first ever bit of welding.
Had an old welder given to me a couple of years back, but before
it could be used it needed a new swan neck etc. I got these from
www.welduk.com
who where fantastic, I even bought a book on basics from them, which
was a really good and helpful read. I don't know if I will do any
proper welding yet or not, however my confidence is growing now
with the welder so I may try and do some stuff myself.
My tank mounts with captive nuts so it's easy to put on (theory!)
All in all I've made some progess over the last few weeks and I'm
pleased that the project is coming along again. Only thing is that
the wife wants me to do some decorating now... will it ever end!!!
On another note, I've been busying myself with the RHOCaR site,
there is an issue with the current domain we have, and there is
no idea when it will stop working (it will once my old server is
turned off!) But the main site is now using the E107 system (www.rhocar.org)
and it's pretty good!!
