I've got really fed up now, so I'm starting to try and catch up
with some work on the car now, getting colder in the evenings but
I may try and get out here to get on with it!
Things ARE starting to happen now though, I finished the head today
and started to grind in the valves, then I noted it was a 1.6l head
and not 2l DOH!!! So much time wasted on that, guess I'll have to
e-bay it and see if I can make a few quid back! Time to start cleaning
up the other head I had, and it was AWFUL, however plenty of Jizer
(excellent cleaner!) and time later and the head looks pretty reasonable.
It also has the pear shaped ports, so I believe it's unleaded which
is a real bonus as well! The block that I started to clean up back
in February now looks like 24carat gold, the bonus as well on this
was that the bores and rings (removed one piston) all look in good
condition, so I'm not going to play too much with the bottom end.
205 block and my assistant!
Also I decided I might as well get on and mod the
sump while I was working in this area!
All ready to be welded by a profesional (e.g. not me!)
Sorry had to put this photo in, he's so damn cute!
Also this month I managed to go to the Donnington
show, great fun and good company!
Appologies but waiter took photo!
At the show I bought a few odd and sods that I need
for the car:
On the whole this month has not been too bad, I have
actually managed to further things and the engine is taking shape
now!
